Earl Grey
Black tea flavoured with oil of bergamot, a citrus fruit. It was traditionally made with Chinese black tea such as Keemun. Many Earl Greys today use other natural or artificial flavourings instead of bergamot oil.

Cultural background
The famous story that a Chinese official gave the blend to Prime Minister Charles Grey is considered a legend. Tea scented with bergamot is documented in England from 1824; adverts for a "Grey's" tea appear in the mid-19th century, and for "Earl Grey's mixture" from the 1880s.
